Do I need a finished mockup before requesting changes?

No. A page URL and a clear explanation are enough to start (e.g., "Make the header more compact and give the logo more breathing room"). If you have specific brand hex codes, font names, or reference screenshots, paste them into chat. Your agent will clarify any details before touching code.

What if my theme settings don't include an option for the change I want?

WordPress customizers and theme panels often lack granular controls for spacing or template structures. With authorized file access, your agent can modify child theme stylesheets and PHP template files directly to implement changes beyond default theme settings.

Can I adjust mobile layouts without affecting the desktop view?

Yes. Specify which screen size you want to target. Your agent writes CSS media queries that apply styles exclusively at smaller screen widths, leaving desktop layouts intact.

Will customizations disappear when the theme updates?

Your agent checks for a child theme before making edits. Adding custom styles and template overrides to a child theme ensures changes persist through parent theme updates. If your site does not have a child theme, your agent can flag this before making modifications.

Does SiteSelf edit page builders like Elementor, Divi, or Beaver Builder?

No. Layouts and templates managed inside proprietary visual page builders cannot currently be edited by SiteSelf. Sites running these builders can still use SiteSelf for standard WordPress templates, custom theme areas, and core content updates.

What access permissions does SiteSelf require?

Theme customization requires the SiteSelf Connector plugin with file modifications enabled, or standard SFTP/hosting access. If your site uses an external CI/CD deployment pipeline where code is deployed read-only from a Git repository, SiteSelf cannot edit those deployed files directly.

Can I preview changes before they go live?

Theme-file edits apply directly upon execution. Your agent outlines the planned approach in chat prior to saving, then provides the updated page URL immediately after. You can inspect the live page and request quick adjustments directly in the thread.

Can SiteSelf complete a full website redesign?

SiteSelf is designed for targeted layout adjustments, styling refinements, and section updates within your existing theme. Complete theme redesigns, theme migrations, or full page-builder conversions are outside the scope of monthly credits.
