Frequently asked questions
What do I need to describe before you build a feature?
Explain what someone should be able to do, which page it belongs on and any rules it must follow. For a calculator, supply the rates and a sample calculation. For a form, describe which answers should reveal extra questions. Your agent asks for missing details before implementing those rules.
Do I need to choose a plugin first?
No. Describe the result you want. Your agent checks whether your existing theme or plugins can provide it, then identifies any configuration or custom code needed. Paid plugin licenses are separate from your SiteSelf subscription.
Can SiteSelf work with code I've already generated?
Yes. Paste the relevant code as text and explain what it should do. Your agent reviews how it fits your site and adapts the parts it can use. Start with a defined feature; a standalone prototype may need substantial changes to work inside WordPress.
Will I be able to edit the content afterward?
Yes, when editable fields are part of the feature. Tell your agent which details your team should manage, such as course dates, staff information or notice text, and who should be allowed to change them. The agent can add those controls in WordPress and explain where to find them.
What access does custom development need?
Code changes need the SiteSelf plugin with file changes enabled or a suitable hosting connection. Hosting may also be needed to install or activate a plugin, change its settings or complete the setup. Your agent checks the access required for your feature before proceeding.
Can you add features to Elementor, Divi or Beaver Builder pages?
SiteSelf cannot currently edit content or layouts controlled by those builders. It can work on accessible WordPress content and independent plugin functionality elsewhere on the site. Your agent checks where the feature needs to appear and explains whether it can implement it there.
What if my developer publishes the site's code from a repository?
That code must go through your developer's existing publishing process. SiteSelf does not currently connect to GitHub or make direct code changes to files managed by that workflow. Your agent identifies the limitation when it inspects the site.
How do I review and test the feature?
Your agent reports what changed and which checks it completed, such as checking code syntax, sample calculations or the page's returned content. Try the actual form, filter or calculator on your site and reply with adjustments. Code edits can affect the live site directly; the agent explains this before making them. Browser interaction tests and visual previews are not currently included.
Can SiteSelf build a complete app or booking platform?
The scope here is targeted functionality on your existing WordPress site. Describe one feature at a time. A complete application, payment system or booking platform needs a broader project, and SiteSelf does not configure external accounts or change records in those systems.
