A notice about SiteSelf

The people who run your website have started using SiteSelf to help maintain it. This page tells you what that means for personal data on your site. They may have sent it to you because your agreement with them asks to be told about a new provider.

What SiteSelf is

SiteSelf is an AI agent for WordPress sites. The people who run your site ask it, in a chat app, to change the site's content, code, plugins and settings, and it carries the work out. It is provided by Refact.

What it handles

To do that work it reads and changes your site, which can include personal data the site holds: for example customers' names and addresses, orders, comments and form entries. It acts only on the instructions of the people who run your site, and every change it makes is recorded.

Where, and by whom

The data is processed in the United States, by SiteSelf and these providers:

  • Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC), United States. The AI model behind the agent.
  • DigitalOcean (DigitalOcean, LLC), United States (New York). The servers the agent and its activity log run on, and where your agent's backups taken before 24 September 2026 are kept.
  • Netlify (Netlify, Inc.), United States. Hosts the SiteSelf website and dashboard.

SiteSelf gives at least 30 days' notice before adding a provider to this list.
